How to Hide Your Piercing Jewellery

How to Hide Your Piercing Jewellery

As unpleasant as it sounds, sometimes we all have to hide our piercings and bite the bullet for not showing our unique side. Definitely, we can't do it without a solid reason, like for family or work and sometimes due to a medical procedure. Talking out of it is a workable option, tho. However, we should all know how to properly hide it without damaging the jewellery or piercing itself. We certainly don't want to miss out on our cute little piercing jewellery, aren't we? And Remember, these instructions aren't for piercings that are still healing. In such cases, you must consult your piercer or a doctor first.

1. Use Subtle Jewellery

Simple Jewellery: You can take it as an option and wear discreet or subtle-looking jewellery. This is workable for facial piercings, which are visible to all extent and need to be hidden most of the time. Instead of using bright and colourful piercing jewellery options, you can go minimalist and find a subtle nose ring or a cute little barbell for the lips.

Clear Glass Jewellery: Clear or fashionable jewellery that almost blends with your natural face shade will save you from taking out your piercing or hiding it. Usually, glass jewellery in this regard is a great option, which is also made of clear CZ stones if you are into extra bling.

Small Jewellery Size: You can get the smallest possible piercing jewellery, too. It is less noticeable to the eyes; someone must stare really hard at your face to find it sitting on the piercing. This kind of jewellery works best for nose piercings and lip piercings. But remember, if you are freshly pierced, make sure to choose the right size. Your piercing will fit according to the jewellery size, and when you want a bigger, more flashier piercing later, the piercing will need to be redone.

Cheap Jewellery Options: Get a cheap stud earring with a simple design. It's the best choice because you can't fix them later. Use wire cutters to take off the decorative part. Hide your piercing easily with a retainer.

Use Retainers: If you have to wear something a lot, choose a retainer made of safe materials like glass, metal, or silicon. Except for septum piercings, those are usually hidden inside your nose and are not seen from the outside.

2. Apply Makeup

The best method for face piercing is applying makeup on your face. You can use a good quality concealer to hide the piercing hole. Make sure to use the colour of your skin in foundation and concealer. Blend it gently around the area of the piercing hole. This method is quick and easy and gives a fresh finish with a cute makeup look.

3. Wear Hair Long and Down

Now, come to ear piercing jewellery. Sometimes, we have to hide those as well, although it is not as commonly needed as septum piercing jewellery for the nose or other facial piercing, but still, it can be hidden. Just wear your hair long and down. It will create a distraction, and no one will notice your jewellery. Also, you can free yourself from the hassle of taking out the jewellery and then putting it back in. This method works best when your piercing is fresh and you are told not to touch or move it.

Not so Boring Undercover Jewellery Options

Now let's explore some exciting piercing jewellery options that can go without hiding or taking out the jewellery all along:

Dermal for the Back of the Neck

The cool look of dermal piercings makes them a hit among piercers. They sit boldly on the skin and speak your true fashion language. If you are into them, get them on the back of the neck. This way, they can be hidden when needed and shown off with hair on one shoulder. Cool right?

But be careful because the back of the neck is sensitive, and sometimes dermal piercings can come out.

Frenulum Piercings

Frenulum piercings, like smiley or frowny piercings, are not super popular yet. They're in the area between your lips and gums. But don't let that scare you – they can be really cute. These piercings are easy to hide because you don't see them much. Even a smiley piercing with a ring in front of your teeth is only visible when you smile.

Septum Jewellery

We can't stop talking about how cool septum piercings are! They heal fast, don't hurt much, and you can flip them up to hide them.

Nipple Piercings

Nipple piercings, like other piercings covered by clothes, are easy to hide; just wear a T-shirt. It's worth mentioning because it's become trendy for celebrities to show off their nipple piercings under mesh tops and chiffon blouses.

Navel Piercings

Belly button piercings are easy to hide with a long shirt. They've been popular for a long time. What's great is you can choose to show it off at the beach or wear a crop top if you're in the mood. Easy to hide or show off, depending on how you feel!

Whether you choose to use discreet jewellery, makeup, or cover the hole, finding a method that works best for you is important. Keep in mind that some methods may not be effective for all piercings, and you may need to experiment to find the best solution.
